3 Tips for Successful Corporate Headshots

16/01/2025

Staff photos are a key part of a company's visual identity and brand. They reflect the company's values and culture while creating a trustworthy first impression for clients and partners. But how can you, as a decision-maker, ensure that your staff photos turn out well? Here are three tips to help you get the most out of your photo sessions!

1. Choose a Photographer and Create a Comfortable Atmosphere

Good preparation is the foundation of a successful photo session. Select a photographer whose style you like and who aligns with your company's image. My personal style is fresh and bright, giving your company a professional and reliable appearance.

A relaxed and comfortable atmosphere during the session helps capture natural and confident expressions. Your employees don't need to prepare or have any acting skills – as a professional photographer, I provide guidance! I've shared many fun moments with different companies, even encouraging the shyest individuals to join in with enthusiasm.

I also provide simple tips for employees regarding attire and other details, but everyone is welcome to be themselves in the photos. If someone is worried about a sudden pimple on picture day, no problem – I always edit those out!

2. Host the Shoot in Your Office Spaces to Keep It Convenient

I recommend hosting the photo session at your workplace, so your employees don't have to spend extra time traveling for the shoot. Instead, they can step in for their photo at a time that works best for them. Your facilities don't need to be large or fancy – what matters most is that the setting doesn't overshadow the employees but does highlight their roles as part of the company.

If needed, I can bring a white background to the session for variety or a more polished look.

3. Use the Session for Marketing Photos Too

While professional corporate headshots showcase your company's unity, I also recommend leveraging the session for marketing purposes. We can capture candid, atmospheric shots that work wonderfully for marketing materials, social media, websites, and employer branding. For this, I offer a small, customized add-on package.

Bonus Tip for Larger Companies

If your company has a large number of employees, it's a good idea to book the photographer for one or several full days at a daily rate. This approach is cost-effective and minimizes the hassle of scheduling sessions for a big group. It's also a great way to encourage those hesitant to participate at first! For these situations, I always customize pricing based on the specific needs.

Well-planned and executed corporate headshots are an investment that pays off many times over. They're not just pictures; they're a statement about who works at your company and what you stand for. By paying attention to the details, choosing the right photographer, and creating the right atmosphere, you can ensure that the photos reflect the best aspects of your business.

Take the leap and create a memorable visual identity with staff photos that leave a lasting impression!
